What is edible marketing? (and why your business needs it)

At the start of this year, we kept asking ourselves a simple question…
What actually makes people remember a brand?

Because let’s be honest, most business cards end up in a drawer, a wallet… or the bin.

That question is what led us to lean even harder into something we call edible marketing.

So what is edible marketing?
It’s using something people genuinely enjoy (and share) to deliver your message (instead of another piece of paper that competes for attention).

Bite & Delight has been supplying Kiwi businesses with custom-branded cookies that do exactly that.

And here’s the thing we’ve learned along the way…

A cookie has a 100% open rate.

It doesn’t get ignored.

It gets opened, talked about, photographed, shared… and remembered.

Last week, we packed and sent 750 custom cookies down to Duncan Cotterill in Christchurch. A law firm choosing to do something a little different with their brand touchpoints.

That’s been a common theme lately.

We’re seeing more and more large corporate clients ditch traditional promo items and replace them with something human, personal, and memorable.

Because when someone receives a beautifully branded cookie, the experience is different.

It creates a moment.
And moments stick.

If you’re in business and thinking about how you show up for clients, staff, or events this year, it might be time to ask:
What will people actually remember about my brand?

Sometimes the answer isn’t another business card…

It’s something they’ll enjoy to the very last crumb.
